Johnny Lloyd’s newest single, ‘Joypolis’, takes a look at a more electronic side of his compositional style than we’re used to. It’s a futuristic track that opens with nothing but atmospheric bird song and luscious pads before finally drifting into folky territory with acoustic guitar chords and endlessly memorable melodies. As we’re told a tale of the feelings that come as a relationship begins to slip away, Lloyd uses a choppy vocoder to evoke an unsettled emotional response.
